It’s time for another edition of Team GMD Q&A. It’s kind of like Vogue’s 73 Questions. Instead, it’s in blog form and there are less than 10 questions – because you’re busy and we respect your time.


This week on Team GMD we are talking to Blandy, one of our dev experts.

Born and raised in Mexico City, Blandy completed her bachelors in Systems Engineering. She moved to Canada in 2018 where she obtained a PG Diploma in Web and Mobile applications. When she’s not building websites and fixing bugs for the GMD team, Blandy can be found observing the views at Deep Cove, exploring the streets of Vancouver by bike, or creating arts and crafts at home. In a short paragraph, tell us a little bit about your role at GMD. What do you do on a daily basis:

My job consists of troubleshooting, problem-solving, tech support, implementing new solutions, and automating processes for Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics.

Personal kryptonite:

Chocolate! I love chocolate and I always have a chocolate bar at home.

Hidden talent:

I dance.

Hobbies:

Dancing, yoga, meditation, going to the gym, biking, painting, arts and crafts.

How do you stay organized at work?

I make lists to prioritize my daily tasks according to importance/urgency. I also have an agenda to keep track of meetings, follow up reminders, etc. 

Whats a cause you are passionate about?

Feminism. I believe we can change the world to be equal for everybody.

What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?

“Winners are the people who never give up” – My dad

What are you currently reading?

“The Four Agreements” by Don Miguel Ruiz, which talks about honesty, integrity, mindfulness, and appreciation for others and yourself.

Favourite Vancouver coffee/brunch/ spot?

Brunch on Granville. It has the best Mexican brunches I’ve ever had. Feels like eating in Mexico to me.

Favourite place to visit?

I love Deep Cove Park. Sitting at the top of the mountain and feeling the air on my face is one of my favourite activities here.
