GMD’s Social Summaries: Advice from Instagram Coach @Elle.Social
Have you ever poured your heart and soul into social media marketing, only to feel like you’re shouting into the void?
You’re not alone—in a world where every business is vying for attention, navigating the complexities of social media can feel like an uphill battle.
But fear not! In the dynamic world of social media marketing, community is everything. It’s a tight-knit network where we come together to share insights, learn from each other’s experiences and ultimately grow together.
That’s why we were thrilled to attend a recent Talk + Social event at Creative Pulse Vancouver, led by none other than Instagram Coach Elle Money. With an impressive track record, including catapulting The Futur’s Instagram following from 30K to a staggering 400K, Elle’s insights are pure gold.
During her talk, Elle emphasized the importance of focus, intention and purpose in every post. She challenged us to ask ourselves—is this content truly reflective of what we want to be known for? She generously shared a proven method to nurture the social media marketing funnel: Awareness > Engage > Discover > Purchase > Delight > Retain.
This can be broken down as follows:
- Grow is all about your outreach, getting a message into the community and providing value to earn the viewer’s interest.
- Nurture comes after “grow” as a way to touch base again, or reconnect with those who interacted with your initial “grow” effort. This is intended to establish trust with the audience member.
- Convert is the final step before you go back to the beginning. It’s where you drive in your credibility and solidify your audience’s decision to follow you and hopefully convert them into a customer!
And here’s a valuable tip to remember: Don’t attempt to squeeze the entire social strategy into a single post.
Trying to tackle everything in one go may result in achieving nothing at all. Remember, one post can’t be a superhero. Instead, focus on creating a dynamic content mix that aligns with the diverse needs of your audience throughout the marketing funnel.
This structured approach bears a striking resemblance to Gary Vaynerchuk’s renowned “Jab Jab Jab Right Hook” strategy, where consistent value-packed content (jabs) is followed by a compelling offer (the right hook). By consistently delivering value to your audience, you build trust and engagement, making them more receptive to your promotional messages.
And by repeating this method, you ensure that you’re continually meeting the needs and expectations of your audience even after conversion!
