Here at Glacier Media, our internal agency ecosystem is made up of 150+ folks.

It’s time for another edition of Team GMD Q&A. It’s kind of like Vogue’s 73 Questions. Instead, it’s in blog form and there are less than 10 questions—because you’re busy and we respect your time.

This week we’re introducing Lloyd Nellas, the newest addition to our talented Social team. Another born-and-raised Vancouverite, Lloyd graduated from BCIT’s Broadcast and Digital Journalism program before making the pivot to marketing and social media. Read on to learn more about Lloyd!

In a short paragraph, tell us a little bit about your role at GMD. What do you do on a daily basis?

I work with the rest of the Social team on content planning, writing and editing for our social media clients.

Describe yourself in three words:

Laid-back, thoughtful, clumsy.

Personal kryptonite:

I’m extremely clumsy! Hopefully I’ve hidden it well at the office.

Secret talent:

Knowing obscure basketball facts!

Such as?

The first game of basketball was played with peach baskets and didn’t have any dribbling.

Hobbies:

I like to do small video projects. I started in high school and it just kinda stuck.

A cause/causes you’re passionate about:

Addressing gender and racial inequality.

The best part of your job:

Being able to create content for a variety of brands and companies. I like that one day I could be writing about fine dining and the next all-natural dog food.

What does a typical Saturday look like for you?

Hanging out with friends, watching shows, convincing myself I should go for a run.

If you had to give a TED talk, what would it be about?

It would probably be between videography on a budget and “Why the Toronto Raptors will win every upcoming NBA season.”

What’s the best Halloween costume you’ve ever worn?

An old-timey detective.

What are you currently listening to?

Right now it’s Give You The World by Steve Lacy and Free by Otis Kane.

Best life hack?

Listen more than you speak.
