Here at Glacier Media, our internal agency ecosystem is made up of 150+ folks.

Another week, another Team GMD Q&A. It’s kind of like Vogue’s 73 Questions. Instead, it’s in blog form and there are less than 10 questions – because you’re busy and we respect your time.

This week on Team GMD, we have SEO Specialist David Gordon-Smith in the spotlight. David is currently Glacier’s longest-serving digital employee since June of 2012. He has been a corporate trainer, website project manager, SEO manager and sales manager. We are lucky to have someone as knowledgeable as David on our team. Read on to learn more about him.

Expertise: All things Search Engine Optimization!

Hidden talent: I can play the piano by ear, am a pretty solid baritone, AND am pretty dangerous with a plasma pistol and battle rifle (Halo FTW)

Personal kryptonite: Costco Tuxedo cake … soooo gooood

Favourite sports team: Utah Utes! And Whitecaps!

What do you do when you’re not working:

A little history first: my Dad is a civil engineer which means we travelled a LOT. I was born in Brazil but have lived in Canada, UK, Hong Kong, Japan, Germany, Czech Republic, Hawaii, and have visited many more countries. Most of my youth was spent in Asia (Hong Kong and Japan) where I was raised watching Studio Ghibli films and watching early morning cartoons… Dragonball! So, when I am not working I enjoy raising my kids to watch some of the classics including Princess Mononoke, Laputa, Totoro, and watch some of the best series SAO, FMA – Brotherhood, Attack on Titan, Naruto and I still watch DBZ.

I am also a pastor/bishop for my church which means I am usually busy with church services on Sundays and providing service most evenings and weekends! PLUS I have 3 adorable little girls Kaiya (almost 3), Sophie (almost 7), and Emma (10) which keep my wife and I extremely busy.

What do you do when you fly up north: I am a closet Foodie so when I am not training, or on 4-legged calls, I am typically finding places to eat that I have never tried before.

When will the Canucks win their first Stanley Cup: Who are the Canucks? GO CAPS!

Ideal breakfast: Oh man … sweet or savoury? Sweet – I enjoy Banana foster French toast and savoury – I have a weakness for a good eggs benny or a mushroom omelette.
