The GMD sponsored team had a busy first quarter, with several successful campaigns representing a diverse range of industries and topics to our audiences. Here are a few examples of high-performing campaigns that our team ran in partnership with local B.C. and Canadian businesses in the first quarter of 2022.

OEB Breakfast

OEB campaign’s main objective was to promote their new North Vancouver location in Central Lonsdale and let locals know about their must-try brunch items, including staples like Soul in a Bowl.

In just one month, the article reached 394% more reads from the original target. The percentage of engaged reads further supported this metric by reaching 90.53%. Readers also clicked on the OEB’s website links 181 times.

Tourism Burnaby

With this article, Tourism Burnaby wanted to attract more people to their month-long Bite of Burnaby festival that took place from March 1-31, 2022, where participants had the opportunity to sample curated menus from different restaurants.

In four weeks, the article reached 234% more from the initial target. The readers’ engagement rate was also high, at 74.22% and 969 in-article link clicks. On average, readers spent over 3 minutes on the article page.

CelticFest Vancouver

St. Patrick’s Day 2022 marked the in-person return of CelticFest Vancouver, the city’s annual celebration of all things Celtic culture. To promote the week-long events and free weekend outdoor festival, Vancouver Is Awesome ran an article campaign detailing the festival’s schedule highlights.

In just under two weeks, the article showed incredible results with engaged reads rate of 93% and in-article links CTR of 27.43%. The traffic mostly came from search (38.7%) and social (32.5%).

What’s Next?

These campaigns produced incredible results and gave our team insight into what kind of activities people in our communities are interested in this spring—attending fun, social events and continuing to explore Vancouver’s diverse food scene.

These trends are expected to stay consistent throughout summer 2022, as more and more people feel safe and comfortable going out and enjoying the sun-filled season.
