Here at Glacier Media, our internal agency ecosystem is made up of 150+ folks.

It’s time for another edition of Team GMD Q&A! It’s kind of like Vogue’s 73 Questions. Instead, it’s in blog form and there are less than 10 questions – because you’re busy and we respect your time.

Data is beautiful. Data is power. Data is the new currency.

If you agree with any of the statements above, you’ll relate to our featured team member, Paul Savluc – Digital Coordinator by day, data wiz by night. It’s impossible to miss his enthusiasm for data since he’s connected more than half of his answers to it. I promise, I made a solid attempt at diverting to other topics early on, but you’ll see on question 5 that I chose to give in.

In a short paragraph, tell us a little bit about your role at GMD. What do you do on a daily basis:
I assist with digital evolution within the organization, from assisting sales to getting their first clients all the way to pushing towards achieving an integrated and automated data pipeline for the organization in order for it to be highly competitive and maintain the quality of making data driven decisions in marketing projects.

Do you have a hidden talent?:
Yes. I can use machines to predict the future to a certain degree.

What’s your personal kryptonite?:
No such thing… I am unstoppable, just like gravity…and data. 😛

Hobbies:
Learning programming languages and complex automation systems such as machine learning and deep learning, cryptography, the Genome, the universe – as well as driving and listening to music.

Ok. Let’s talk some more about data. Give us another hot take on it:
Data can be used to push for what really matters as well as be used to create great harm. It is our job to understand data and only use it for the meaningful things in life.

What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
My good friend Tania once told me to “Trust the timing of your life”, which has always been spot on in my experiences. It’s a good reminder to keep leaning into patience and hope in uncertain times.

Favourite coffee spot/restaurant in Vancouver:
I really like the ice cold Mcdonald’s coffee. I drink coffee without sugar or cream, only a little bit of milk sometimes.

Last series you binge-watched:
I have binge watched “Foundation”. I consider it a nice, little re-creation of the book series.
