Another week, another Team GMD Q&A. It’s kind of like Vogue’s 73 Questions. Instead, it’s in blog form and there are less than 10 questions – because you’re busy and we respect your time.
Introducing this week’s feature on Meet Team GMD, Manny Sidhu. He’s our Website Project Manager and just like the first letter of his name, Manny is in the middle of everything at GMD. When he’s not hammering away at website proposals, Manny loves hockey and enjoys long walks on the beach. Want the 411 on Manny?
Expertise: Sports and Movie Trivia.
Hobbies: Watching movies as soon as they come out, going to the gym, and playing Inline hockey.
Hidden talent: Playing Ice Hockey
Personal kryptonite: Spending money on unnecessary things on Amazon 💸I know I’m not the only one…
Office habit: I was good at bringing lunch from home until I got peer pressured at work (Not going to say any names). Deciding what to eat for lunch is one of the hardest decisions I make all day.
Favourite superhero: 💀💩L
Favourite sports team: Forever a Canuck.
Three things on your bucket list that you want to cross out this year: Travel outside of North America, purchase a new car and accomplish my personal fitness goals.
What would be your WWE entrance song? Undertaker’s theme song
Morning rituals: I’m usually up around 6:15 and leave the house around 7:30. Since I live in Surrey, it takes me a little more than an hour to get to work and I take the Skytrain every day. On the transit, I spend a few minutes meditating and just visualizing my day ahead. For the rest of the trip, I either read a book or listen to music.
What is your secret to managing multiple website projects and moving them down the pipeline: You need to enjoy what you do. Whether it’s designing, developing, or managing them, I like working on website projects. I have a formulated spreadsheet with all the projects I’m involved with and at what stage they are in the pipeline. I prioritize on what is important and start by working on tasks that would take me the most amount of time. Sounds simple because it is.
What/who inspires you: My friends, family, and teammates will always inspire me.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years: Within the next five years, I would like to go back to school and finish my BBA Degree at BCIT (Bachelor of Business Administration). I will also like to work on my own personal brand and business. Regardless of what I do career-wise, I am into fitness; therefore, I would like to see a healthier version of me now.
Next vacation destination: Its kind of strange that I have never been to India, my parents’ homeland. I would definitely like to visit it one time within the next year.
It’s 11 AM on a Saturday morning. What are you doing: Working out at the gym, making more gains!
